Our ‘Make Every Day Count’ Poster has a special place in my heart. This past August I was hit by a drunk driver. Where paramedics and officers expected their to be fatalities, the man involved and I both walked away with minimal injuries. There are no questions that God was there that night and protected us. After my accident, I realized just how fragile life is, how much everyday is such a gift, and how we never really know what day will be our last. Afterwards I suffered with some anxiety and PTSD while recovering from the accident but this verse gave me so much comfort: “Lord, remind me how brief my time on earth will be.remind me that my days are numbered- how fleeting my life is. You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand. My entire lifetime is just a moment to you; at best, each of us but a breath. We are merely moving shadows and all our busy rushing ends in nothing. We heap up wealth, not knowing who will spend it. And so, Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in you.” Psalm 39: 4-7        That night I was reminded of how brief our time is here and how the most important thing we can do is put my hope in the Lord- no matter the circumstance. Realizing this gave me an urgency to make everyday count. Everyday we wake up is a gift. And every morning and minute I want to receive that. Here’s to making every day count!
